3 ways to paint your wall halfway

A painting trend to watch

Call it a half-wall, a two-tone wall, a two-striped wall, or a half-painted wall… whatever, we love this painting trend making a major comeback this year! No matter which way you do it, this bold technique is the perfect compromise between stripped down and colourful. Here are 3 inspiring ways to try this trend that will make you want to dive in too!

In the hallway

The hallway is the first impression people will get from your home, so invigorate yours with a half-wall. This technique allows you to play with the duality of colours in a clever way, with the cut off at half height to hug the top of a table, or starting from the ceiling.

In a kid’s room

If we let kids choose the colour of their rooms themselves, it would definitely be… colourful! But why not? The half-wall technique is a fun way to add a touch of colour in your little angel’s bedroom without visually overloading the space, to everyone’s delight. To encourage mid-afternoon naps and to calm anxious little hearts, a cottony blue like Caravel (6171-63) is best.

With the moldings

A simple trick to add character to your home is to add beautiful wall moldings. Whether you go for coffered moldings or beautiful wooden baseboards, this inexpensive option can completely change the look of a room and give it depth and originality. Here, the bedroom baseboards were textured and painted with Sketch (6206-31), for a stunning, radiant finish!

From the living room to the bedroom, we’re 100% in with the half-wall craze. Are you?
