Children's Bedroom & Nursery Colours

Colour matters to kids

Children's Bedroom & Nursery Colours

Whatever a child's age, their bedroom is a sacred place for them. Involve your child in some of the colour decisions to give them a sense of pride and ownership - but most importantly - to let them experience the joy of colour at an early age.

New Beginnings

Infants may not see colours very well, but you can opt for contrasting geometric shapes that will help develop their senses. You can also make use of the ceiling, as well as the upper part of walls - places infants will see from their cribs.  Especially decorating the ceiling is a great start, since it is the first thing they see when they open their eyes.

Reflecting individuality

Between the ages of 5 and 10, kids already show an interest in creating a space that reflects them. Choose a main colour together, or a a colour they gravitate towards, then develop a colour theme by adding other colours that complement their furniture and bedding.

Lasting colour inspiration

Whether sporty, creative or intellectual, a teenager's bedroom often becomes an extension of their personalities. Why not let them express themselves through colour? Together or alone, help them find the right colours to create a space they love. A little hint: strong, sometimes very bright or dark colours often best fit the bill.
