DIY - DO IT WITH SICO

Create a geometric wall design in 7 easy steps

HOW TO INCORPORATE A GEOMETRIC MURAL INTO YOUR DÉCOR

Want to create a trendy, eye-catching geometric design on your walls but don’t know how? It’s simple to paint colourful, angular shapes for an amazing result in no time. Here are 7 easy steps to painting a beautiful custom geometric mural.

What you’ll need:

sheet of paper
pencil
long ruler
painter's tape
can of paint, paint tray, rollers and brushes

STEP 1: Draw the shape

Draw your geometric shape on a sheet of paper and determine the correct measurements.

STEP 2: Mark out the shape

Draw the geometric shape on the wall with the pencil and ruler.

STEP 3: Apply painter’s tape

Apply painter’s tape on the outside of the lines you drew so that you can paint within the lines of your shape.

STEP 4: Start painting

Choose a Sico colour that’s right for the mood you’re creating in your room and a paint that’s right for the room’s use. Then get painting! If your geometric shape goes from floor to ceiling or includes a corner, cut into these areas first.

STEP 5: Paint the shape

Once you have finished cutting in, paint the rest of the area. Depending on your design, you may want to use a combination of colours. Check out these examples for inspiration

STEP 6: Remove the tape

Remove the painter’s tape while the paint is still wet. This will help you get sharper lines. Let dry, and your design is done!

STEP 7: Add accessories

The final step is to decorate your room with furniture and accessories you love.

Your geometric mural is done - now enjoy your trendy new space!
