How To Stain Your Deck
Your deck is not as easy to stain as other parts of the exterior of your home. Weather conditions such as humidity, temperature and wind can interfere with the process. However, there are just a few simple criteria and some easy steps involved in the process. You don't have to be a professional to give your deck a new look.

Decks consist of many pieces of wood, the ends of which can soak up moisture. Properly cover these ends and any parts lying near the ground to keep the wood from soaking up too much moisture.
Don’t paint in the sun, if there is dew, if it is freezing, rainy or if the moisture content of the wood is greater than 12%. The best temperature for painting is between 15 °C and 25 °C (60 °F and 77 °F).
